About:
Although Annette has lived in Detroit Michigan and Chicago Illinois, she considers Massachusetts her home. She has lived in Deerfield since 1980. Annette attended town meetings and appreciated the opportunity for residents to express their views.
Why Engage:Deerfield Matters:
As a member of Engage Deerfield, Annette works collaboratively with others to build strong, interactive relationships within the Deerfield community. The group focuses on turning community interests into meaningful actions that educate, inform, and benefit residents. In addition to serving as a member at large, Annette is also the Treasurer of Engage Deerfield. She has helped organize childcare for both Annual and Special Town Meetings, making participation more accessible for families. Annette also serves on the Tri-Town Beach Commission.
Career Moments
Annette has worked in public schools for 37 years as a Speech and Language pathologist. She worked in the Amherst Public School for 25 years as a team member of the Amherst Integrated Preschool. This program became a model for delivering integrated preschool services around the country.
She is a lifetime member of the American Speech and Language Association (ASHA). Annette is also a retired member of the Massachusetts Teacher Association Union. She has participated in a number of state wide ballot questions and initiatives.
Annette is a believer in public education because it is the great equalizer for future generations.
Fun Facts
Annette is a lifelong learner who enjoys meditation, gardening, and classic backyard games like croquet, badminton, and bocce. Some of her favorite spots in Deerfield for a good walk include Sugarloaf, Old Albany Road, Stillwater Bridge, Lower Road, the Pine Nook area, and River Road, along with many other beautiful places around town.
