Emily is a lifelong Western Massachusetts resident and proud Deerfield community member. She serves as Director of Communications & Market Evolution at CET, where she helps bring practical climate solutions to more people and communities. Outside of work, she's deeply involved in local civic life, serving on the Deerfield Planning Board, chairing the Local Cultural Council, and sitting on the Engage: Deerfield steering committee (she’s also the designer of Engage’s award-winning Currents newsletter). She's also a belly dancer, baker, mom, and can usually be found balancing community projects with adventures alongside her rescue pup Punky Barkster.
Favorite Deerfield Spaces:
Emily loves spending time on the Pocumtuck Ridge trail, but if you ask her favorite place in Deerfield, the answer depends on the season. Every Halloween, she transforms her home on Graves Street into an over-the-top display, embracing one of Deerfield's most beloved traditions and welcoming hundreds of trick-or-treaters. For the rest of the year, she enjoys Deerfield's beautiful farmland and scenic back roads and feels fortunate to call such a vibrant community home.

Career Moments
Throughout her career, Emily has helped launch communications campaigns and partnerships that make climate action more accessible and achievable for households, businesses, and communities across the Northeast. One of her greatest professional joys is turning complex environmental challenges into clear, motivating stories that inspire people to take action.
A recent career highlight was speaking at New York Climate Week, where she led a sold-out session on climate communications to hundreds of attendees, sharing strategies for engaging people through clear, compelling messaging that makes climate solutions feel practical and achievable.
Serving her hometown has been equally meaningful. Whether helping residents navigate Town Meeting, organizing community conversations, or supporting local arts and culture, Emily is passionate about building stronger, more connected communities.

When she's not working or volunteering, Emily performs belly dance under the stage name Aralia Pearl and helps organize the Molten Bellydance Series at The Lava Center. She enjoys baking, adventuring, and finding new ways to bring people together through the arts and community events.
